Hallmarks of a Hero

ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE OF A LIFETIME?
THAT’S WHAT BEING A FAMILY MAN IS: A CHALLENGE.
IT WILL TAKE MORE COURAGE, HEART, AND DRIVE THEN YOU EVER KNEW YOU HAD.
BUT THE REWARDS CANNOT BE DESCRIBED, ONLY EXPERIENCED.
IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY, OR ASPIRE TO HAVE ONE, THIS IS WHAT YOU SIGN UP FOR.
THIS IS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A GOOD SIR.
ARE YOU IN?

What follows is a manifesto for men designed to kickstart our journey to being the heroes we’re called to be.

LEADER

If we are going to change the story on what it means to be a man, it’s going to take leadership. We need vision, determination, heroes, and humility. We need you to the man you’re meant to be!

What if had a vision for our lives and families?

MATE

For those who marry, there’s no more important relationship than the one you have with your spouse. We need marriages that are full of joy, romance, trust, and passion. We need marriages that last.

What if we never stopped pursuing our ladies?

PRODUCER

We were born to create. To do things that matter. To make a difference. We need men who know, sharpen, and use their talents.  Who know when to work hard, when to play hard, and when to rest.

What if we did what we were called to do?

PROVIDER

While we must provide food, shelter, and clothing, what we really must do is make our house a home. A safe place for our loved ones. We need guys to handle their business and plan for the future while living in the present.

What if we gave our families strong roots to grow from?

WARRIOR

Unfortunately, we live in a world that’s not always kind and peaceful.  We need men who are willing and able to protect, defend, and help those in need. Who overcome fears. Who take care of themselves so they can take care of others.

What if we were prepared to save the day?

HEALER

Let’s face it, most guys have an instinct in them to fix problems. Sometimes to a fault. Imagine if we channeled that urge better and became restorers who knew when to give advice, affection, amusement, or even an apology.

What if we made our world a better place?

COACH

Believe it or not, children find safety in structure. They need boundaries, discipline, and encouragement to help them grow. They need you to be their coach for life.

What if we taught our kids the way they should go?

GENTLEMAN

It seems concepts such as courtesy, etiquette, and chivalry have hit a sharp decline in our lifetime. Too many of us are socially awkward and insecure or we’re self-centered and arrogant. Instead, we should aim to be self-controlled, respectful, and hospitable.

What if we knew how to conduct and carry ourselves?

PASTOR

Whether you realize it or not, as a parent, it’s up to you guide your family spiritually. They need you know why you believe what you believe—and live it out.  After all, their view of God will be greatly influenced by you.

What if we lived out what we believe?
